Mark your calendar for the second full weekend in October to attend the annual John Blue Cotton Festival. Enjoy the beauty and history of rural Scotland County while touring the recently restored John Blue house, see a 100% mule-powered cotton gin in action, and reminisce while walking through an old-timey General Store. Take your time as you walk through the vendor area to admire the handmade crafts and taste the food delicacies, such as bloomin' onions, funnel cakes and/or homemade ice cream. Musicians, dancers and story tellers perform on the outdoor stage throughout the weekend. Spend some time in the newly opened antiques and collectibles museum admiring the antique cars, tractors and other farm equipment. Take the time to participate in the old-timey games, hay rides, watch as your children ride one or both of our trains, and so much more. There is something here for everyone in the family. Please join us as we celebrate our silver anniversary! It will be great to have you participate in the festivities!
