COMMERCIAL FOOD VENDORS PLEASE READ CLOSELY! Dear Vendor, Thank you for your interest in the John Blue Cotton Festival! Whether you are a first time vendor or have been with us for many years, we welcome you. As always, we are striving to continually improve our festival, so take time to review the enclosed application and festival map for any changes that may have occurred since the last time you were with us. COMMERCIAL FOOD VENDORS: We have had many requests for larger booths, as well as many complaints that food vendors continue to have items set up outside their allotted space. In an effort to remedy both problems, we have decided that ALL COMMERCIAL FOOD BOOTHS WILL BE 16 X 16. ALL SET UP, DISPLAY, AND EQUIPMENT MUST BE CONTAINED WITHIN THAT SPACE. Please understand that if your set up extends beyond the marked area in any direction, you will be asked to either change your setup or leave if you can not conform to the space you have rented. We have added five larger booths, and will have a water line run to the back row for your use. The committee encourages you to return your application as soon as possible, as many areas fill quickly. We will continue to limit the number of booths selling similar items, therefore, some categories fill very fast. Vendors of similar items are accepted on an earliest entry basis and spaces on the grounds are assigned based on receipt of application and aesthetic arrangement of the festival grounds. Every attempt will be made to fill your booth request, however the decision of the committee is final in space assignment. You will be notified via postcard that your application has been received, reviewed, and accepted or rejected. Assignment letters typically go out in early September, however, that has been changed so that logistics for the festival arrangement can be completed closer to the festival date. Expect to receive booth assignment packets at the end of September. Food vendors will receive their health department forms directly from the Scotland County Health Department this year. Should you have questions concerning health department information, please call Danny Sprouse at the Scotland County Health Department, 910-277-2440. And one last change: … We will be using wrist bands for all vendors this year. Each booth will be given one vendor badge. Each 12 x 14 booth will also be given three wrist bands to be worn by workers each day of the festival. Each commercial food booth, size 16 x 16, will be given 6 wrist bands for workers. If you have more workers than these maximum wrist band allotments, you will be required to pay gate admission for these workers. We hope you find these changes to be helpful for you as you plan your festival season. The John Blue Cotton Festival is celebrating its 27th year this year, and we want it to continue to grow to be a wonderful time for our visitors as well as a successful show for you. YOU can help us do that. Spread the word about us to professional, quality vendors. Tell them what a great family festival it is. Together, we can all make this the festival in which to participate!
