The John Blue Cotton Festival committee welcomes applications from both craft and food vendors for our annual festival.  The following information is presented to provide answers for frequently asked questions and to outline rules all vendors must adhere to if participating in our festival.  Following this informational portion, you will find the vendor application, available to download, complete, and mail in to apply for the John Blue Cotton Festival.  A map of the vendor area is also available. Rules:
 

  • Booth spaces for the John Blue Cotton Festival are a generous 12’ x 14’.
  • Vendors must provide all set-up equipment. 
  • Trailers must fit inside the 12’ x 14’ space.
  • A limited number of spaces with electrical hookups are available at an additional charge. (110 voltage only, limited amps)
  • No generators allowed.
  • Working out of personal vehicles will not be allowed. 
  • Prohibited items include: stink bombs, poppers, silly string (used or sold), rubber bands, play cigarettes, and projectiles of any kind. The festival committee reserves the right to refuse sale of any item deemed objectionable.
  • Booth space will not be available for the sole purpose of handing out literature or raffling.
  • Vendors who participated in the festival the previous year may request the same space location for the upcoming year.  Every effort will be made to accommodate the request, but it can not be guaranteed.
  • All vendors are responsible for collecting and reporting any applicable sales tax.
  • No pets allowed on festival grounds.

 

FOOD VENDORS must list each item you wish to sell on the application.  The committee will restrict the number of similar items available for sale and approval of such items will be accepted on an earliest entry basis.  Examples of such items include, but are not limited to, funnel cakes, lemonade, snow cones, philly cheesesteaks, ice cream, and collard sandwiches.  Limitation of similar food items also applies to one day food vendors.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:  VENDORS USING WARMING OR COOKING DEVICES MUST HAVE A CHARGED AND INSPECTED FIRE EXTINGUISHER VISIBLE IN THEIR BOOTH AREA.

 

CRAFT VENDORS: All crafts must be handmade by the applicant.  All items for sale in the booth must be listed on the application.  Absolutely no mass produced or imported items may be sold.  Failure to comply with this may deny you the opportunity to participate in future festivals.  Craft vendors may also demonstrate and sale, or demonstrate and exhibit only.  See application form for specifics on these levels.  While limitations of similar craft items will not be as stringent as those on food items, the committee reserves the right to limit sales of duplicate craft items.  Every effort will be made to consider the variations of styles in some craft areas, but if an abundance of same item applications are received, then acceptance will be determined on an earliest entry basis.  Examples of such items include, but are not limited to, pocketbooks/handbags, crocheted and quilted items, soaps, baskets, etc. limitation of similar craft items also applies to one day craft vendors. 

 

New Vendor Category:  Antiques & Vintage Collectibles.
Antiques and vintage collectibles should be appropriate for a family festival and date from 1965 or earlier.  Same booth space and prices apply.
